MCNAIRY COUNTY, Tenn. - After spending 15 months living in hospitals the Carter family is thankful to be home for the holidays.

Kensley Bea Carter is in the Thanksgiving spirit. The 2-year-old was recently cleared by doctors of Stage 4 cancer.

"We are are so grateful to be home and as a family of three we were so scared last year that we would be a family of two for this Thanksgiving," Leslie Carter.

Kensley was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma in 2011.

"It's overwhelming you don't know what to do you don't know how to process the information. It takes a couple of days to really realize this your life not and this is what you have to deal with." said Leslie Carter.

Recently, the Carter family gathered together to raise money in the "Give Thanks Walk" in Collierville to give back to the hospital that gave them hope.

"We raised over $14,000 dollars and that's our way of paying it forward," said Leslie Carter.
