A man who attacked a realtor in the summer of 2011 has been sentenced.

Stephen Davis, 27, was sentenced in Madison County Circuit Court, Monday. He will serve 12 years for aggravated kidnapping, attempted rape and robbery.

Once Davis is released from prison, he will have to register as a sex offender and have lifetime community supervision. Davis was found guilty by a jury of his peers in February.

In July 2011, Davis, using an alias, made an appointment with a realtor to look at a home on Derbyshire Drive.

While the woman was showing him the home, police say Davis handcuffed, gagged and hog-tied her, then put her in the closet. He took her purse and cell phone. She was able to escape to a nearby house and get help.

During the investigation, police determined that Davis' intended to rape the woman but his victim fought him off of her. He was arrested about five hours after the attack
