Students Mourn The Loss of Teen Killed In Crash

BOLIVAR, Tenn- Students at Bolivar Central High School are trying to cope with the death of one of their classmates, who was also a star athlete, killed in a tragic wreck early this morning.

According to Deputies, 16-year old Donald Hemker was killed early Monday morning when the car he was driving was hit by a tractor trailer on Highway 57 in Hardeman County.

School fauculty said this is the third wreck involving Bolivar students and former students in less than a week, two of the accidents being fatal.

"Just last week we lost a 2012 graduate to a car wreck, and on Friday another student was put in a coma from a wreck," Jeff Barnes, the school principal said. "Now we get this news."

Faculty and students said Hemker was a noted baseball player, a good student, and an even better friend.

THP has not yet released the cause of the crash.
