Study More Than Half of Workers Over Qualified
JACKSON, Tenn- More Americans are getting back to work, but according to a new study released on Monday, they are taking jobs below their level of qualification.
The Non-Profit Center for College Affordability and Productivity said nearly half of Americans with college degrees are working in jobs in which they are overqualified.
Mary Logan said she does not list all of her 25 years of experience on her resume, for fear that she will not get a job.
"It's hard to get your foot in the door when you have that much experience," said Logan.
According to the new study, there are 41 million college graduates in the workforce and less than 19 million jobs available that require a degree.
"I would love to have a position where I can utilize my skills and experience, but they're just not there."
Statistics from the U.S Census Bureau show that the number of Americans with bachelor's degrees grew 25 percent from 2002 to 2012.
