Suspect Arrested in Midday Robbery

JACKSON, Tenn.- Quick work by Jackson Police, including one of their K-9s, landed a man in jail, just minutes after an armed robbery inside a north Jackson business.

Dayonte Murphy, 18, was charged with burglary and aggravated robbery. Police said he wore a purple ski mask and was armed when
he robbed a man inside the Sylvan Learning Center on Devonshire Square.

He was believed to have gotten in through an employee side door just before 12 Noon, then robbed the worker inside of his wallet and cell phone.

Murphy was arrested minutes later, with the help of a K-9, who also helped recover a BB gun and the victims wallet.
