THP Investigating Fatal Hit-and-Run

HUMPHREYS COUNTY, Tenn. - The Tennessee Highway Patrol is looking for the public's help in a fatal hit-and-run investigation, Saturday.

Humphreys County sheriff's deputies discovered the body of 45-year-old Janice Kelley, of Nashville, in the median of Interstate 40 going westbound. She was found near mile marker 137.

Troopers said they believe Kelley was hit by a vehicle around 6:30 p.m. Friday.

According to THP, Kelley locked her vehicle after her car broke down. She was struck by an unknown vehicle, and landed in the median.

Her body was not discovered until early Saturday morning.

Lanes were shut down at around 9:30 a.m. Saturday, and all of them were reopened four hours later.
