Teen Charged in Early March Shooting
JACKSON, Tenn. - Jackson police have taken a 17-year-old into custody after he was identified as the suspect in a shooting that happened in March.
According to a news release, officers arrested the teen Thursday evening and transported to the Madison County Juvenile Detention Center. He is charged with attempted murder and is being held at the detention center pending a detention hearing in Madison County Juvenile Court.
On March 6 at 8:14 p.m., Jackson police were called about a
shooting in the apartment complex at 33 Carver Avenue. A 23-year-old
Jackson man told officers that he was on the steps of an
apartment at the A building when he was approached by two black
men wearing all black. They began shooting, and he was struck on
the left hand and left upper-leg.
Evidence at the scene indicated that a shotgun was fired.
The man was transported by ambulance to Jackson-Madison County
General Hospital where he was admitted for his injuries. The case remains under investigation.
