Thousands of West Tennesseans attended the Annual Buford Pusser Festival in Adamsville Saturday enjoying games, rides and food.

The event honored law enforcement officers from across the country and paid homage to the legendary former McNairy County Sheriff Buford Pusser.

The festival also recognized Sullivan County Sheriff Wayne Anderson and Tennessee State Trooper Dwayne Stanford with National and Local Law Enforcement of the Year Awards, respectively.

McNairy County Sheriff Guy Buck said, "We have the opportunity to come out and actually meet with the people in the community, and that is wonderful. We also have the opportunity to fellowship with fellow officers not just locally but internationally."
