JACKSON, Tenn. - Tigrett Middle's gospel choir performed at the Kiwanis Club meeting Thursday to thank them for supporting their school.

School leaders say the performance is a way of showing appreciation to club members for the donation of automated external heart defibrillators. The Kiwanis Club of Jackson donated the AEDs to every high school and middle school in Jackson.

Members of the Kiwanis Club said they felt defibrillators were important to protect students, staff and visitors to Jackson-Madison County Schools. "We wanted to make sure that if there was a crisis where someone needed a defibrillator in a school that it was available to them," said Kiwanis Speaker Greg Griffin.

Carlie Brantley, head of the gospel choir, said performing before the club was an honor.
