Tipton Co. Deputy Suspended, Investigated for Improper Contact with Minor

A Tipton County Sheriff’s Deputy is being investigated for allegedly having inappropriate contact with a female.
According to a news release, Tipton County Deputy Jason Cochran, 29, is accused of having sexual relations with a 17-year-old girl.
Deputy Cochran has been placed on Administrative Leave without pay while the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation looks into the case.
The Tipton County Sheriff said Cochran was hired in April of 2007 as a correctional officer, and was transferred to the Patrol Division as a deputy sheriff in 2011.
Sheriff J.T. “Pancho” Chumley said, “I requested the TBI to investigate this matter and I will prosecute any criminal activity to the fullest. This type of conduct will not be tolerated and is certainly not the current standard of quality employees at the Sheriff’s Office.”
