TIPTONVILLE, Tenn. - According to the Lake County Sheriff's Department, Mario Montgomery, who is a former Lake County deputy and current Tiptonville Alderman, was arrested Wednesday night and charged with stalking.
Deputies said Montgomery also had an active criminal summons on file for a harassment charge.
Bond was released on bond Thursday.
In March, after an investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Montgomery was arrested and charged with one count of sexual battery by an authority figure and one count of sexual contact by an authority figure. Charges related to that incident are still pending in Lake County Circuit Court.
Montgomery remains on the Tiptonville Board of Aldermen. According to the city's charter, the Board of Alderman "may prescribe punishment of its members for nonattendance or disorderly or improper conduct, and to enforce the same."
