A Trenton man is in custody and charged with the robbery of a Gibson County bank.

Trenton Police Chief Will Sanders announced Friday they have arrested Ron Woody, 47, for allegedly robbing the Regions Bank next door to the high school at gunpoint last week.

The warrant said, on Wednesday, two Humboldt banks reported a man cashing in money with stains on it. The stains matched the chemicals in the dye packs attached to the stolen money. Shortly after the money was cashed in, Humboldt police pulled Woody over and found most of the stolen bills still in his car.

"The employees were very well prepared for this, they did an outstanding job the day of the robbery. It was evident to us that those employees had been training and they've been training on a regular basis," said Chief Sanders.

Woody remains in custody at the Gibson County Jail with a $500,000 bond. Trenton officials say they plan to ask the FBI to present this case to a Federal Grand Jury in Jackson.
