Two Face Charges after Stabbing at Club Diamond

JACKSON, Tenn. – One man was arrested after a stabbing at a West Tennessee night club, Sunday morning. His girlfriend is also facing charges after she allegedly tried to hide evidence.
According to Jackson police, the stabbing happened just after midnight Sunday morning at Club Diamond in the 400-block of East College Street.
Investigators believe that Willie Rupert III, 25, stabbed a man who was performing a rap song at the club. Rupert left the scene after the alleged incident with his girlfriend, Katina Weathers, 32.
Police said they went to Weathers apartment. She allegedly made false statements to them and officers said they found a bloody mop inside the apartment.
Police arrested Katina Weathers at her residence and she is charged with filing a false police report and tampering with evidence.
Rupert was located and arrested in the area of Allenton Heights. He faces a charge of aggravated assault.
Both Weathers and Rupert were arraigned Monday in Jackson City Court.
Weathers has been released on $5,000 bond while Rupert is free on $10,000 bond. They both are due back in City Court on Sept.
