Two JPD Officers Fired

JACKSON, Tenn. - The Jackson Police Department announced the dismissal of two of its officers, Monday.
Officers Christopher Chilcote and Alan Randolph, most recently with the department's Traffic Division, met with Chief Gill Kendrick last week.
Their disciplinary hearing stemmed from an incident on February 19, involving their cruiser and a Jackson Transit Authority bus.
Investigators say a door to the parked police vehicle was left open and was struck by the passing bus. Both vehicles suffered minor damage and no one was injured.
The department determined Chilcote and Randolph failed to follow proper procedures for such incidents and that documentation filed by Chilcote concerning the damage contained false statements.
Records show Chilcote had been with the department for five years. Randolph had been with the department 15 years.
