JACKSON, Tenn. - It was just one year ago Saturday that the University of Memphis "officially" took over the former Lambuth University campus.
Last year, Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam raised the University of Memphis flag in a ceremony on the West Jackson campus.
University leaders said in just one year, the campus has grown tremendously, not just in the number of students, but in faculty and degree programs as well.
U of M Lambuth's Dean, Dr. Dan Lattimore, said last fall more than 580 students lived on the Lambuth campus.
The school is offereing additional housing, a bookstore, fitness center, and technology-driven classrooms to accomodate the growing number of students.
