UPDATE: Suspected Carjacker Turns Himself In

UPDATE: Henderson police report Paul Edward Martin, Jr. turned himself in to authorities, Friday morning.

HENDERSON, Tenn. – Police have how identified a suspect in the Wednesday carjacking of a woman in Henderson.

Henderson police have signed warrants charging Paul Edward Martin Jr. with especially aggravated kidnapping, car jacking and attempted aggravated rape in connection with the incident.

The suspect reportedly asked the victim for a ride. After driving the man from North Carolina Street to Second Street Extended, the suspect allegedly pulled a gun and told the woman to take off her underwear. He then took her purse and told her to get out of the car.

The stolen vehicle was recovered Thursday on Third Street in the city.
