United Way Makes Donation to Imagination Library

The United Way of West Tennessee made good on its five-year, $80,000 pledge to the Madison County Imagination Library.

JACKSON, Tenn.- Monday, the United Way contributed its final $15,000 payment to the Imagination Library's board. The Imagination Library delivers a book every month to children from birth until their 5th birthday, at no cost.

Since it began in 2005, more than 190,000 books have been given to children in Madison County.

"When they, you, person receives in the mail a book, they're excited to spend time reading it," said Eddie Lee Herndon, president and CEO, of the United Way of West Tennessee. "Time with mom and dad, time learning, so it's just a win-win all the way around."

The $80,000 pledge came from the Kate Campbell Robertson Endowment.
