Vehicle Hits Building in South Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn. - A vehicle struck a business in the southern part of Jackson, Wednesday morning.

Early reports indicate the crash happened in the 2200 block of South Highland Avenue before noon. The vehicle reportedly left the roadway and struck the Pet Care Center.

Officers on the scene reported that the person driving the car had been trapped inside the vehicle and had to be cut out. Light smoke was reported to be coming from the building following the crash.

The victim was transported to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Police said she did not appear to have any serious injuries. They believe the crash occurred due to some sort of medical episode. No charges are expected to be filed.
