CROCKETT COUNTY Tenn.- The investigation into the October homicide of Matthew McKnight of Crockett County continues, and Thursday the family of the victim asked the public for help solving the crime.

Investigators with the Crockett County Sheriff's Department believe Matt, who was living at home with his parents, was shot to death during a home burglary.

Matt's parents, Don and Judy McKnight told WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News they hope someone has information that will answer their questions about that day. "No matter how small it is that will help us find the people who did this," said Don McKnight, Matthew's father.

The grief stricken parents said what happened to their son was unnecessary, "I just wish he hadn't come home that day. I'd given everything we had. What he had to give up wasn't worth it," said Don McKnight.

Officials are asking anyone with information to call Crockett County Crime Stoppers at (731) 696-5150. All calls are confidential, and the caller may be eligible for a cash reward.
