Warm Start to December

JACKSON Tenn.- West Tennessee saw unseasonably warm temperatures the first three days of December. That has made it hard for some residents to get in the holiday spirit.

Many say the sunshine makes them forget Christmas is around the corner. "It feels like summer! I wish I was on the lake, or a boat. It's really strange Christmas is coming up," said holiday shopper Leah Sanders.

The National Climate Data Center says the country is experiencing its warmest year on record since 1895. While, most residents enjoy the change, many hope it cools down in time for Christmas.

"I hope it's not like this on Christmas day! I'd love for it to snow," said Dorinda Alexander. Jackson resident Daniel Martin agrees, "I would like to get some snow this year at some point though."

The warming trend is expected to last the first week of December.
