WEST JACKSON -- Police have released the name and signed a warrant for the arrest of a man they say is connected to the discovery of nearly $7,000 worth of high grade marijuana.

Davarious C. Scott is being charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, possession of marijuana with intent to resale, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, evading arrest and assault on an officer.

Scott is currently on parole and is being sought for his arrest warrant.

During an investigation into a domestic disturbance on Prospect Avenue last Friday, officers say they smelled marijuana coming from an apartment. Police say they then witnessed a black male flee the apartment.

After obtaining a search warrant, investigators searching the apartment located about 1.5 pounds of high grade marijuana valued at $6,820, a loaded firearm, digital scales and ammunition.
