Weakley County Pair Arrested Twice in One Week
WEAKLEY, COUNTY, Tenn. -- For the second time in a week, two Weakley County men were arrested on a variety of charges following a traffic stop.
On Tuesday, investigators learned that Daniel Sweatt, 33, was driving in Martin although his driver's license was suspended. Sweatt was stopped by deputies on University Street.
At that time, a Martin police drug dog was brought to the scene and alerted the presence of drugs in the car. A search revealed drug pipes and a bag containing an estimated 3 grams of methamphetamine.
A passenger in the car, Brandon Earls, 28, and Sweatt were both arrested and charged with possession of schedule 2 methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Sweatt was also arrested for driving on suspended license.
Both men were out of jail on bond from arrests on Sunday following a traffic stop where deputies recovered meth and paraphernalia. They will appear in court on Wednesday.
