Weakly County Woman Hospitalized in Shooting
WEAKLY COUNTY, Tenn. - A woman was airlifted to the Regional Medical Center in Memphis after a Weakly County sheriff's deputy shot her during the execution of a meth-related search warrant.
Officers went to a home on Chestnut Blade Road to conduct their search. The Department of Children's Services was with them because there were children in the home.
Investigators tell WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News that a gun was pulled on officers, so they were forced to return fire.
Deputies said the woman, Tonya Arnold, was taken to the Med with a gunshot wound to the chest and two to the leg. Investigators believe she is in stable in condition and she will be OK.
