West Tennessean Makes Name for Himself as 'Kid President'

HENDERSON, Tenn. - What started out as a project meant for fun, has turned one West Tennessee kid into an internet sensation.

The 8-year-old boy has been featured on Tosh.0 and newspaper websites across the country. While he said he is just like any other kid who loves swimming, cartoons, and mac-and-cheese, he is also busy running the country as "Kid President."

"Don't be in the party, you have to be a party," said the boy, who wishes to remain anonymous.

With nearly 100,000 views on his weekly videos and hundreds of followers on Twitter, the self-appointed Kid President and his producer said they are just looking to put a smile on viewers' faces.

"I think if we could all look at the world through the eyes of a kid more often, it really would be better," said producer of the "Kid President" videos, Brad Montague.

"I just want to make the world better," said Kid President. "I want to make them smile and laugh."

As his famous YouTube quote proclaims, "If it doesn't make the world better, then don't do it."

While Kid President said he is busy making the world a better place now, he also wants to do the same when he is a grown up; he hopes to serve in the military.

"An Army man. A Marine," said Kid President. "Because you get to make the world better when you're an Army man."

Kid President is giving away 'Medals of Awesome' for other kids who want to do the same.

"It's a medal I give to people, like when I meet them and when they're nice," said the internet sensation.

"What we'd love to see happen is connecting these kids to some support to really make their projects grow even more," said Montague.

With a new video released every Friday, Kid President's project is also likely to grow even more.
