West Tennesseans Attend Inauguration
JACKSON Tenn.- More than 800,000 people attended President Obama's second inauguration, and some in attendance were from West Tennessee.
Jackson resident Darren Lykes told WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News it was a moment in history he wanted to experience first hand. "It's one of those things that you dream about when you are little and to have the opportunity to even go it's one of those things I couldn't pass up."
Lykes took many photos to remember the moment, and said it did not feel like Washington was divided on this Monday. "If anything it felt like it was coming together as one. He talked about so many things and it really brought us all together."
Lykes said he hopes everyone will get a chance to experience a historical moment like a president's inauguration in their lifetime.
