West Tennesseans Play in Super Bowl
JACKSON, Tenn. - Super Bowl XLVII hit close to home for some West Tennesseans, even though the Tennessee Titans did not make the game.
Two West Tennessee natives, Patrick Willis on the 49ers, and Jacoby Jones playing for the Baltimore Ravens, were on the field Sunday.
"It just goes to show that Tennessee is represented in football," said Ravens fan Cory Wells.
Sports fans said they hope Willis and Jones' success stories will turn kids away from violence and give them a reason to dream.
"Know that no matter how you are raised or how you came up you can still make it! Never give up on life," said Wells.
"Seeing them make it to the Super Bowl makes me think one day I could too," said aspiring football player Carlos Parsons.
