West Tennesseans Prepare For Severe Weather

JACKSON, Tenn- West Tennesseans are stocking up on essentials as they prepare for severe weather.

At the Food Giant in South Jackson, customers flooded the lines, almost all of them buying water, eggs, and milk. Store employees said they've been busy since opening this morning as customers prepare for severe weather.

Some of the shoppers WBBJ spoke with said they're not sure the weather will get as bad as expected; but they'd rather be safe than sorry.

"We have plenty of bottled water and canned goods and things that are easy to cook," John Lee, a Jackson resident said.

"You have to make sure you have plenty of water and milk in case you're stuck in the house," Imogene Sharpe, a Hardeman County resident said.

Store employees said they're expecting to remain busy until closing as shoppers pick up last minute essentials.
