JACKSON, Tenn. - Vanderbilt University Medical Center and West Tennessee Healthcare is joining forces for a joint venture to bring more health services to our area.
The agreement doesn't change ownership of Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, but leaders hope the partnership will give the hospital and West Tennessee Healthcare an opportunity to work with a nationally ranked academic medical center on future projects and services.
WTH leaders said they are hoping the partnership will continue to improve quality and care.
"We've had a relationship with Vanderbilt for quite sometime. They staff our neonatal intensive care unit and our pediatric intensive care unit, and we've had that relationship since the mid-1990s," said Amy Griffin, Vice President and Compliance Officer for West Tennessee Healthcare.
