Woman Arrested in Alleged Driver's License Scam
JACKSON, Tenn. - The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrested a Haywood County woman, Tuesday.
Crystal Elaine Williams, 30, of Brownsville, is accused of scheming to get her driver's license back. A Haywood County grand jury indicted her on charges of criminal simulation and forgery, Monday.
The District Attorney General requested the TBI investigation. Williams was suspected of submitting a fake receipt for payment of a ticket written by the Tennessee Highway Patrol. Investigators say Williams' license had been suspended for failing to pay it.
The Haywood County Clerk's Office discovered the duplicated receipt in August.
Williams was booked into the Haywood County Jail on $10,000 bond.
