Two Arrested, Two Police Cars Wrecked after Short Chase

JACKSON, Tenn. - A noise complaint call early Thursday morning led to two Jackson police cars being rammed by suspects who ran from officers.
According to authorities, an officer responded to a noise complaint around 4:40 a.m. in the 800 block of Old Hickory.
Once the officer arrived at the apartment complex, two suspects reportedly jumped into a vehicle and drove away. The responding officer gave chase.
A second officer at the Mrs. Winners restaurant on Old Hickory was ready to join the chase when the suspect vehicle rammed him head-on.
The first officer came into the parking lot behind the suspect vehicle and then his car was struck as well.
After the first two police cars were disabled, the suspects then drove east on Old Hickory Boulevard and their truck stopped in the parking lot of the Hamilton Hills Shopping Center.
After a short pursuit on foot, police were able to catch and arrest the two men. They are identified as:
1. Pedro Hernandez, 23, of Jackson, charged with felony evading arrest and assault on an officer
2. Jose Morales, 20, of Nashville, charged with three counts of aggravated assault, evading arrest, underage consumption of alcohol and violation of the open container law
One of the officers whose vehicle was struck sustained a minor leg injury while the second was uninjured.
