Man given 12 years in baby's traffic death
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) - A judge in Chattanooga has sent a man to prison for 12 years in the traffic death of a 4-month-old girl.
Bryant Houston pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide and was sentenced Monday by Criminal Court Judge Barry Steelman.
According to the Chattanooga Times Free Press, city traffic investigator Joe Warren testified Houston's car was traveling 103 mph when it struck a car carrying the baby, Addison Moore, and her parents in May
Houston testified he drank three 22-ounce beers before driving. His
blood-alcohol level was 0.19.
The judge cited the 39-year-old Houston's criminal history and numerous
parole violations on unrelated charges in sentencing him to the maximum allowable term.
