2 fired after teen suicides at state facility

DANDRIDGE, Tenn. (AP) - Two officers have been fired and a manager has resigned after an independent review of two suicides at a youth detention center in East Tennessee.

The Tennessee Commission on Children and Youth released its review on Wednesday with a finding that the two teens had shown a history of suicidal behavior.

The Tennessean ( ) reports two security officers at the Mountain View Youth Development Center were fired Tuesday and a security manager resigned the same day in response to the findings.

Department of Children's Services Commissioner Jim Henry says he is reviewing the report.
