NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The bassist for the rock band 3 Doors Down has voluntarily checked himself into a drug treatment facility after bonding out of jail.

Defense attorney Ed Ryan said he could not disclose where Robert Todd Harrell is being treated.

Harrell is facing multiple charges, including vehicular homicide by intoxication, after being accused of driving under the influence and causing a fatal interstate crash in a Nashville suburb last weekend. Records show authorities discovered that Harrell had numerous narcotics on him while he was being processed into the Nashville jail.

Police say the 41-year-old bassist was speeding down Interstate 40 in his Cadillac CTS when he clipped the back of a pickup truck, causing a crash that killed the driver of the truck.

The bassist is due in court next month.
