4 interactive pieces by teens to be displayed
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The Frist Center for the Visual Arts will show off the artwork of Nashville-area teens.Works from the "Stop. Take Notice" initiative will be featured April 26-Aug.25 in the Conte Community Arts Gallery at the Frist.
The display is interactive and visitors will be encouraged to touch.
Teens from the Martha O'Bryan Center, Nashville Public Library's Main Branch Teen Center, the Oasis Center and the YMCA Latino Achievers created four artworks under the instruction of local teaching artists that were then initially installed at each of the community partner organizations.
In response to the issues of place, identity, race and gender that they identified, the young participants created the four interactive art pieces.
