Copper Thief Strikes KY Church

Police in Lexington say copper thieves destroyed an air conditioning unit at a church.
Its been reported that Officers responding to a tampering alarm early Friday from the Disciples of Christ Church on Red Mile Road found a unit completely disassembled. Damage was estimated at several thousand dollars. The thieves left a backpack and several tools in their haste to leave.
Police said to get to the air conditioners, the thieves had to cut through a six-foot-tall chain link fence.
This is believed to be the second time the church was hit by copper thieves.
