Crack Down on Underage Drinking
The Hamilton County Sheriff's office is cracking down on underage drinking.
The agency said drinking parties involving minors have become such a problem that violators, including youths, will now be arrested, rather than simply cited.
A citation is a ticket that doesn't require a mug shot or being booked into jail, but requires the person receiving it to appear in court.
A statement from the Sheriff's Office said drinking parties involving teens have increased and are often held at night in dangerous outdoors areas or at lake access points.
The statement came Thursday after four adults and seventeen juveniles were arrested on Signal Mountain.
