Fisk picks 2 finalists for presidency
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Fisk University has selected a college administrator from Michigan and the founder of a consulting practice as finalists to take over as president of the Nashville college.
H. James Williams is dean of the Seidman College of Business at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Mich.
Lawrence M. Drake is chairman and CEO of Hope 360 Degrees, a consulting group that advises corporations and institutions on career and organizational transitions, entrepreneurial and executive strategy and leadership.
The Tennessean reports the finalists will visit the campus next week.
Fisk President Hazel O'Leary, energy secretary in the Clinton administration, is retiring Dec. 31.
The university has faced financial struggles and recently won a court battle to sell a stake in its modern art collection donated by painter Georgia O'Keeffe.
