Former Officers Plead Guilty to Bribery
Federal court records say two former Jackson police officers intend to plead guilty in a bribery case.
Court filings say Monyette Quintel Jefferson and Terence Dale Jenkins are scheduled for change of plea hearings on Oct. 17 in U.S. District Court in Jackson. They had previously pleaded not guilty to charges of taking bribes from men they thought were drug dealers, but who were really FBI agents.
They were arraigned in March with another officer, Anthony Ricardo Payne. In a six-count indictment, Jefferson is accused of accepting more than $20,000 in bribes and Jenkins and Payne are accused of accepting $10,000 each.
Payne has pleaded not guilty. His trial is set for November.
