The Hattiesburg Police Department will enforce its curfew ordinance for minors. The city ordinance requires residents eighteen and younger be attended by a parent or legal guardian when in public between 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, and midnight to 6 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. Lt. Eric Proulx says police always have issues with kids wanting to stay out all night during the summer. Proulx says juveniles found out after curfew may be detained, and parents of violators may be fined.
