Jail Architect Fired

news admin

Jackson County supervisors have fired the architect for the new county jail.
The supervisors voted Monday to terminate the contract with Pryor & Morrow, who has been working on the jail for more than ten years.
Board of Supervisors President John McKay said the move will free the county to go in a different direction.
McKay said the fact that the cost of the current jail design, a traditional brick-and-mortar structure, was going up and up, reaching an estimated thirty-five million dollars, fueled the decision to change.
