Jury from elsewhere will hear Kenneth Bartley case

JACKSBORO, Tenn. (AP) - A judge in Jacksboro has granted a motion that an out-of town jury hear the retrial of Kenneth Bartley as he is retried in a school shooting.

WBIR-TV (http://bit.ly/130uam6 ) reported Judge Jon Kerry Blackwood ruled Monday, granting the change requested by Bartley's attorney, Gregory Isaacs. Rather than move the trial, however, Blackwood decided to select a jury from another part of the state.

Bartley was 14 in 2005 when Campbell County High School Assistant Principal Ken Bruce was fatally shot. Principal Gary Seale and Assistant Principal Jim Pierce were wounded.

He was 15 when his previous attorney and the prosecutor struck a plea deal that sent him to prison for 45 years.

Bartley said he wasn't allowed to talk to his parents before the plea was entered.
