MS inmate Mistakenly Released
Authorities are searching an inmate who was releases by mistake from the Hinds County jail.
It appears Demondrick Calhoun made his way to Holmes County on Monday where he allegedly kicked in his wife's door, made a threat and then left.
Calhoun was convicted of uttering forgery and given a five-year sentence. He was being held on court order in Hinds County after being arrested in Holmes County for a probation violation.
Authorities say poorly trained employees and an antiquated computer system for tracking inmates likely contributed to the inmate being released on June 6.
Hinds County Chief Deputy Chris Picou and Sheriff's Department attorney Dana Price say they are investigating Calhoun's release.
