A Hattiesburg man will be released from jail on time served following his guilty plea to a felony child abuse charge.
37-year-old Darrell Costello Bolton has been held in the Forrest County Jail since February 2011.
Forrest County Circuit Court Judge Bob Helfrich sentenced Bolton to ten years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections with all but time served suspended, provided that Bolton successfully completes five years of probation.
As a condition of his probation, Bolton is ordered to have no contact with the victim.
He must also pay $2,500 in fines, a $100 special assessment to the Mississippi Crime Victims Compensation Program, $250 to the Forrest County public defender's fund and all court costs.
