More music, more food, cornbread festival coming

By news admin

SOUTH PITTSBURG, Tenn. (AP) - The recipes are being checked, the entertainers being booked and planning is well under way for the National Cornbread Festival in South Pittsburg.

The event April 27-28 will be the 17th yearly event in the Marion County city. Among attractions are Corn Bread Alley, where cooks show off their skills.

Festival President Beth Duggar told the Chattanooga Times Free Press plans are still being made, but the newly renovated Princess Theater will have a larger role this year. The jamming tent is expected to draw more musicians than ever and there are at least as many craft and food vendors as last year already signed up.

The festival is regularly updating its website at www.nationalcornbread.com.
