Ober Gatlinburg welcomes week of cold weather
GATLINBURG, Tenn. (AP) - A week of cold weather is welcome news to the operators of the Ober Gatlinburg ski resort.
Company official John Cossaboom told WVLT-TV the snow-making equipment will be running at full capacity to lay down several feet of snow. The snow guns can produce about a foot of snow per hour.
There has been natural snow on the mountain above Gatlinburg and the new machines the resort installed can make snow when temperatures are above freezing, but this week's weather will be ideal.
