Officer Indicted for Alleged Fake Traffic Stops

By news admin

A former Ecru police officer faces two federal counts that he stopped drivers and demanded cash to avoid traffic tickets.
34-year-old Jody Mac Rock of Pontotoc was indicted in late May and faces up to two years in prison and $500,000 fine or both, if convicted.
His indictment only recently was made public.
Rock is accused of making two traffic stops in Ecru on June 7, 2008, and demanding cash from each driver to avoid a traffic ticket.
A warrant was issued for his arrest May 22, but no other actions in the case are on the public docket.
