Plea change hearing set in stolen vehicles case
GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - A federal judge has scheduled a change of plea hearing Tuesday for a man charged with transporting stolen vehicles to Mississippi from other states.
Two men were indicted in the case in July 2012 in U.S. District Court in Gulfport, Miss.
The plea changed hearing is for Clarence Lloyd Brunty, who previously pleaded not guilty to four counts involving vehicles from Alabama and North Carolina.
The other defendant, James Pearson Watson, is scheduled for trial July 16. He has pleaded not to 11 counts involving vehicles from Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, North Carolina and Tennessee.
Their attorneys didn't immediately respond to messages Wednesday.
Court records say the vehicles include a Dodge truck and various all-terrain vehicles brought to Jackson County, Miss., over a period of months in 2011.
