Police Dept. seeking crossing guard applicants
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The Nashville Police Department is looking for school crossing guards.
Anyone who wants to work the part-time position is invited to a job fair on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Green Hills Room of the Metro Southeast complex at 1417 Murfreesboro Pike.
The department will be taking applications for the upcoming school year.
Applicants must be at least 18, have a valid government-issued ID and social security card, have reliable transportation, and be able to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.
The police department employs nearly 200 crossing guards who work public school zones in the mornings and afternoons throughout Davidson County.
