Police: Mom a suspect in Tenn. baby disappearance
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - The Memphis police chief says the mother of a missing infant is a suspect in the child's disappearance.
Chief Toney Armstrong says police are still searching for 7-week-old Aniston Walker, who was reported missing Thursday. Armstrong said Friday that officers "are not leaving any stone unturned." He says they're concentrating on the neighborhood near the home and a landfill.
The baby girl's mother, 33-year-old Andrea Walker, is charged with child abuse and child neglect in connection with the disappearance.
Armstrong says police believe the child's father, who does not live at the same address, reported her missing.
Armstrong cites conflicting accounts among relatives about when the infant was last seen, and says Walker told police she left Aniston with her 3-year-old son while she took her 5-year-old son to school.
