Rocks slide onto Alcoa Highway, 1 lane blocked
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A rockslide has closed one lane of a route from Knoxville's airport into the downtown area.
The Knoxville News Sentinel reported rocks tumbled onto the outside northbound lane of the Alcoa Highway late Tuesday night. The Tennessee Department of Transportation was assessing the slide before crews clear the debris.
The slide was near the U.S. Marine Corps Center and not far from the site of a major rockslide about a month ago.
Southbound traffic wasn't affected.
